  • 2010 Conference for Health Care Staff

    “Parkinson’s Disease: A Comprehensive Approach to Care” sponsored by the Movement Disorder Clinic, Deer Lodge Centre on Friday, September 24, 2010 from 8:45 am to 4:00 pm in the Life and Learning Centre at the Deer Lodge Centre, 2109 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg.

    There are over 6 million people living with PD worldwide and approximately 125 for every 100,000 Canadians.  In 2006/2007 it was estimated that in Manitoba alone approximately 5,422 individuals received a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease, with those numbers expected to rise by 1000 every 10 years.

    The conference would be of interest to Allied Health (including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Speech Language Pathologists) Health Care Aides, Massage Therapists, Nurses, Pharmacists, Physicians, Psychologists, Registered Dieticians and Students.  Anyone working in health care will find this conference beneficial.

    Registration fee is $35.00 per attendee for the day.  This includes lunch and snacks.  Registration forms will be available soon.
